On Monday, June 10, the academy proudly awarded the leadership award ‘Silver Star’ to 18 exceptional cadets for their exceptional leadership and service. These cadets have truly shown the values of integrity, dedication, and excellence, setting a bright example for their juniors and the future generations of cadets. It is admirable how dedicated they are to achieving success in every aspect of their cadet life.
Moreover, as part of the celebration for English Month, the cadets witnessed a public speaking competition with the declamation and debate contest. With the theme “Navigating Waves: Exploring the Interplay of Technology and Tradition at Sea,” the cadets showcased not only their English prowess but also their ability to critically analyze the interplay of technology and tradition in maritime affairs. It was proof of their intellect, creativity, and dedication to honing their skills beyond their traditional learning environments.
As the colors were about to end, cadets were privileged to hear an inspiring speech from 2/O Raffy B. Mangabat. His words deeply inspired the cadets, reminding cadets to “Embrace every learning opportunity, seek knowledge with curiosity, and always strive for excellence in all that we do.” His wisdom serves as a guiding light for all cadets, as they are one step in their maritime careers and navigate the seas ahead.
