On the 12th of June 2024, the players for the Chess, Scrabble, and Boggle tournaments were awarded for showcasing their remarkable talents in these sports that require the mind! The academy thrives on Excellence, and these cadets show their critical thinking and decision-making skills are top-notch. We are proud of these cadets who embody our core values.
Furthermore, we listened to an inspiring speech from one of our great instructors, C/E Alfford J. Siguancia. In his remarks, he reminded all of the cadets that our life is full of challenges and learning the culture of the maritime profession is an adjustment that we need to make out of ourselves. “Compete with oneself and not with other people”, is the most important mindset that we all need to imprint in our minds as we all have our paces in life and nobody will be successful all at once. His inspirational speech truly acted as a reminder to all of the cadets that we all are going to be successful, at our paces.
